About Me
Hi, I'm Tom, the creator of 1st Class Maths!
With 12 years of experience working in secondary schools, I have dedicated my career to helping students achieve their academic goals. After serving as Head of Maths and Deputy Headteacher, I decided to change paths and become a full-time tutor, creating this platform to support students in their self-study of GCSE and A level maths.
My aim is to provide high-quality resources that empower students to learn and succeed independently. My extensive experience in education has given me a deep understanding of effective teaching methods and strategies to achieve excellent results. For instance, under my leadership, my school's maths department achieved a Progress 8 score of 1.09, placing us in the top 1% in the country.
My students consistently succeed, and I am proud to share testimonials below from students, parents, and teachers who have witnessed the positive impact of my services. I am passionate about making maths accessible and enjoyable for all students, and I look forward to helping you reach your full potential whether it be through use of my website or directly from tuition.
